About The Position

Ascentec Engineering is hiring an Aerospace Operations Manager for our Dallas, Oregon facility. The Aerospace Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations within the aerospace manufacturing facility, ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, compliance with industry regulations, and continuous process improvement. This role plays a critical part in aligning operational activities with strategic business objectives, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining customer satisfaction in a high-precision, deadline-driven environment. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and other aerospace industry standards.
  • Proven leadership and team-building abilities in a high-paced production setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret data and drive performance.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to lead change and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Applicant must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check prior to employment.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering or Operations Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with defense or space program compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage production teams to meet daily manufacturing goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate cross-functional departments including production, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Monitor production KPIs and generate regular reports to evaluate performance and drive accountability.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and other applicable aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation, and equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Partner with HR and leadership to recruit, train, and develop staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets and contribute to cost control and profitability initiatives.
  • Act as the primary operations point of contact for customer audits, internal reviews, and supplier performance assessments.
  • Promote a safe work environment by enforcing health and safety policies and leading incident investigations when necessary.
