We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as an Aerospace Mechanical Technician, Senior to work out of Ft. Eustis, VA. This role involves performing aerospace/mechanical technician tasks in support of Army aircraft and associated mission equipment. Responsibilities include fabrication and assembly of electrical and mechanical components for system development, test preparation, and execution in R&D and flight test applications. The technician will provide input for the development of electrical and mechanical systems, components, harness designs, mechanical designs, and installation methods, focusing on manufacturability, airworthiness, and operational sustainment. This includes participating in design and drawing reviews, aiding in component selection, assembling wiring harnesses, setting up bench tests, installing aircraft wiring, mechanical mounting, configuring test fixtures, monitoring tests, and adhering to quality control standards. Testing support involves component selection, test stand maintenance, calibration, and operation of test equipment, as well as planning for future efforts, monitoring program execution, and documenting results. The role also supports flight testing, structural testing, ballistic testing, component failure analysis, and environmental qualification for aircraft components, including fabrication and sheet metal work for standard and non-standard systems. The technician will interpret engineering drawings, install mechanical systems, and coordinate with project leads and maintenance personnel. Operation of common powered and non-powered tools is required. Travel is expected for mission requirements such as site surveys, technical interchange meetings, training, and testing support outside of JBLE facilities, including equipment packing and movement. Support for flight duties may also be required. Other duties as assigned.
