About The Position

General Plastics is seeking SKILLED AEROSPACE MANUFACTURING WORKERS to produce their products. The company specializes in rigid and flexible polyurethane foam and build-to-print composite parts, serving diverse industries for over 80 years. Their LAST-A-FOAM® rigid and flexible foam sheet stock is used for its mechanical properties and versatility, and they also provide high-quality composite assemblies and custom parts. They collaborate with customers through the entire process from design to delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing (preferably in aerospace or plastics manufacturing)
  • 5+ years of demonstrated work experience
  • Availability for either day or swing shift
  • Must be a US Person due to ITAR regulations

Responsibilities

  • Fabricates and assembles aerospace plastic products, applying knowledge of working characteristics of plastics and bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations and dimensional and finish specifications.
  • Inspects, part marks, and prepares products for shipping.
  • Manipulates small tools such as micrometers, calipers, box knife, exacto knife.
  • Sprays materials (colors, adhesives, etc.) onto plastic/foam parts.
  • Cuts, deflashes, and fabricates various rigid and flexible foam parts.
  • Operates various cutting equipment such as band saws, table saws, routers, and shapers.
  • Operates various mixing equipment.
  • Reads, interprets, and conveys instructions, verbally and in written form.
  • Receives and interprets instructions and directions from supervisors and peers.
  • Demonstrates good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely.
  • Follows written instructions.
  • Communicates effectively.
