ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) Mechanic for their ISS2 contract supporting their Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island, approximately 2,000 miles off the coast of Hawaii. This is a rotational position where the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on-site at Wake Island and 1 month off (unpaid). While working on-site, housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility, and all meals are furnished through the cafeteria. The employee is responsible for their flight from their home base to Honolulu, Hawaii. Transportation from Honolulu to Wake Island is provided by government-sponsored aircraft. Under the direction of the Airfield Manager, the AGE Mechanic repairs, services, and maintains Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and is responsible for the equipment and tools necessary to perform the work. The incumbent analyzes malfunctions and repairs; rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as jet engine starters, power supply units, air cycle conditioners, and power generation systems in the field or in a shop environment.
