About The Position

The Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic I will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aerospace ground service vehicles and equipment. This role ensures the proper operation of equipment to support aircraft flight and maintenance operations through regular and unscheduled maintenance. The position involves diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electronic issues, ensuring equipment serviceability, and preparing equipment for storage and deployment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 0-1 years of experience as a Mechanic or in a related field.
  • Exposure to technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Familiarity with hardware and soldering techniques, technical data, and everyday tools.
  • Exposure to the principles of electronics, refrigeration, hydraulics, power generation, reciprocating engines (gasoline and diesel), gas turbine engines, pneumatics, and heating.
  • Basic understanding of servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on motor and engine-driven generator sets, air conditioners, hydraulic test stands, air compressors, bomb lifts, heaters, and other similar support equipment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal technical training.
  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aerospace ground and service equipment (AGE).
  • Inspect, test, and operate AGE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions.
  • Remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and re-install AGE accessories and components.
  • Provide dispatch services for AGE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations.
  • Prepare AGE for storage and mobility deployment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
