About The Position

HX5 is seeking an Aerospace Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to support the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center in Brook Park, Ohio. The selected candidate will support NASA Aeronautics projects in Operational Technology (OT) Security, Risk Management, Systems Security Engineering (SSE), and management services for the NASA Aeronautics Cybersecurity team. This role involves providing outreach and guidance to NASA stakeholders throughout all project phases, facilitating SSE application from pre-formation through project closeout. The position is monitored by the Aeronautics and Ground-Based Systems Branch at NASA GRC, which provides systems engineering and system architect leadership.

Requirements

Experience in developing security requirements, security architectures, and data security plans.
Experience working on NASA projects.
Experience leading teams and executing security strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
Committed to successful collaboration with the NASA team and partners.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency.
Must have a security clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with the NASA Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate.
Additional certification in information and security management (CRISC and CISSP).
Familiarity with NASA systems engineering processes.

Responsibilities

Compliance Coordination for agency-wide aeronautics cybersecurity reporting.
Support Aeronautics IT portfolio technical lead.
Participate in governance efforts that may include: agency cybersecurity boards, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) working groups, and cybersecurity subject matter expert (SME) for aeronautics programs and projects.
Participate in external collaboration that may include: the FAA, industry, and standards entities.
