About The Position

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company that leads in providing aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions to extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture, and repair critical turbine components for various engine platforms, supporting the aerospace, energy, and defense industries. We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools for manufacturing and repairing critical aerospace components. This role involves machining parts to precise specifications, inspecting finished products, and ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of components vital to the aviation industry. Work performed directly supports aviation safety and reliability, with teams repairing and manufacturing critical aerospace components used globally. This position is represented by Local 475 and offers a 15% shift differential for the 3rd shift. New hires will undergo initial training on the 1st shift for a minimum of 90 days.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical work instructions.
Knowledge of shop mathematics, machining principles, and metalworking processes.
Experience operating CNC machining equipment.
Ability to use precision measuring and inspection instruments.
Must be a US person (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status).

Nice To Haves

Five (5) years of machine shop experience.
Experience operating both CNC and manual machining equipment.
Experience with CNC grinders, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, VTLs, internal grinders, or external grinders.
Aerospace manufacturing, repair, or precision machining experience.
Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools to manufacture and repair aerospace components.
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications to perform machining operations accurately.
Machine components to precise dimensions and tolerances using established machining methods and procedures.
Inspect and verify finished work using precision measuring instruments and gauges.
Follow all safety, quality, and operational requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Support cross-training, continuous improvement initiatives, and other production duties as assigned.
