About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for a CMS Supervisor to join their team in Charleston. In this role, you will provide leadership for the Chemical Management Program by leading a team of material handlers and coordinators to provide chemical inventory management at our customer facility. You will be the primary contact for customer inquiries related to the chemical management program. PPG offers Chemical Management Services, a turnkey outsourcing program for chemical, process and logistics management - custom designed to include sourcing, purchasing and vendor managed inventory. As the on-site Chemical Supervisor, you will be responsible for shelf-life inventory management and fulfillment of product to the customer's point of use, along with chemical data and KPI reporting. This is an onsite position in North Charleston, SC and reporting to the CMS Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business-related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience desired.
  • 3+ years relevant experience in the following areas is beneficial: warehouse and inventory management, business process analysis & improvement, lean & six sigma, quality assurance, team facilitation, materials management, enterprise resource planning (ex. SAP), and cost reduction.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in Customer Relationship Management highly desired.
  • Prior experience working with Sales, Marketing, and Business Managers.
  • Experience with Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Accomplish all defined contract obligations over the life of the program.
  • Support the identification and prioritization of annual cost savings projects to meet PPG profitability goals and customer cost savings.
  • Identify resources, maintain Project Management timing charts that outline all activities to be accomplished within yearly time frames.
  • Help train new coordinators and material handlers that are an important part of the Chemical management program.
  • Manage coordinators, stockers, labelers, and support customers.
  • Support PPG chemical management program when supplier problems arise and implement resolutions.
