Aeronautical Engineer Intern
About The Position
The Aeronautical Engineering Intern supports the Aircraft Integration team in the design, development, installation, and testing of aircraft systems associated with DeltaHawk engine integration programs. The intern works alongside engineers, designers, technicians, and flight test personnel to support projects across a variety of aircraft and platforms. Assignments may include research, design, analysis, and documentation of aircraft subsystems such as fuel, oil, induction, exhaust, cooling, electrical, and engine control systems, as well as engine installation, nacelle, and overall aircraft packaging. The position may also support prototype aircraft builds, ground testing, and flight test activities, including test preparation, instrumentation, data collection, and review of test results.
Requirements
- Currently a Junior enrolled in an engineering degree program from an accredited school in aerospace, mechanical, systems engineering or an equivalent.
- Strong desire to learn new skills and work with people.
Nice To Haves
- Currently enrolled in an engineering degree program from an accredited school in aerospace, mechanical, systems engineering or an equivalent with sophomore year completed.
- Experience using SolidWorks or similar drafting / modeling programs.
- Previous aerospace (especially GA) experience.
- Comfortable working with and understanding electronics.
- Extracurricular activities such as SAE Baja or Formula team racing.
- Sport pilot license or greater.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Aircraft Integration team in the design, development, installation, and testing of aircraft systems.
