This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. As part of a small, hard-working, and accomplished team of experts, you will support all aspects of aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic design for both atmospheric and transitions to/from atmospheric flight for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the systems through their entire lifecycle from early conceptual design and configuration through flight operations and sustaining engineering. You will be responsible for the development of aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic models and databases for space launch and reentry vehicles as well as modeling the corresponding flight mechanics/dynamics using hand calculations, engineering methods, numerical methods, and detailed test methods. Among the other responsibilities of this position are constructing analytical models to represent internal flow phenomena within tanks, diffusers, and fluids networks.
