We are hiring an Aero Space CNC Lathe Machinist for our Southwest Houston area client. We are looking for experienced, dependable machine operators with a strong background in steel plate burning who are ready to interview immediately! This role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes to manufacture aerospace components, machining center studs, tie rods, shafts, and related hardware to blueprint specifications. The machinist will read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and process sheets, and enter, modify, and adjust CNC programs at the machine control. Responsibilities include performing roughing, finishing, grooving, threading, and chamfering operations, setting up chucks, collets, steady rests, tailstocks, and follow rests for long parts, and selecting and installing proper cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders. Adjusting feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to maintain production and quality requirements is essential, as is machining alloy steels, Inconel, MP159, and other high-strength materials. The role also requires performing first-piece, first-article, and in-process inspections.
