About The Position

Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. An Aerial Underground Construction III will maintain control of outside plant (OSP) activities surrounding the assigned work sites, which includes recording and maintaining accurate field notes, support project timelines and inspecting, designing and providing accurate staking sheets for projects. Additional responsibilities include operating fiber construction equipment and working closely with other Aerial/Underground Construction employees to oversee the erecting, maintaining and repairing of aerial and underground fiber communication networks. This position requires field work with some travel requirements that may be upwards of 80% of scheduled worktime, depending on the business needs. Individuals in this role must be comfortable working with customers and technology on a daily basis. This position will be reporting to our office in Spokane, WA.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience in the fiber optic field is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard.
  • General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
  • In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking.
  • Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
  • Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work.

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial Driver’s license is preferred.
  • Previous Lead/Foreman experience is a plus.
