About The Position

Aerial lineman/laborers handle installing, repairing, and maintaining overhead utility lines and equipment. This role involves operating various types of machinery, adhering to strict safety protocols, performing equipment maintenance, and ensuring job sites are clean and safe. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift significant weight.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of related experience
• For-Hire Endorsement (required)
• DOT physical (required)
• Must be able to lift 50-75lbs

Responsibilities

• Operates boom trucks, truck-mounted buckets, and aerial lifts.
• Adheres to safety procedures, such as checking equipment regularly including climbing equipment.
• Performs basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Maintains all equipment both before and after the job.
• Loads, unloads, and installs poles with proper rigging.
• Checks and replaces all fluids in equipment/vehicles daily.
• Fills out daily DVIRs.
• Able to operate all tools related to the industry including hand and power tools of all types.
• Assures that all tools and equipment are accounted for and returned to the truck at the end of each day.
• Recognizes and identifies utility locates and their meaning.
• Reads and understands construction prints and specs.
• Properly sets up traffic control, including setting up all road safety signs, cones, and barrels before the job starts and assuring all are accounted for at the end of every day.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Monitors operations to ensure all health and safety standards are met.
• Aligns machines with reference to stakes, markers, guidelines, and/or hand signals of other workers.
• Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools.
• Properly uses shoring braces and other temporary structures.
• Signals other equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Measures, marks, and records openings and distances where work is located.
• Always has something to do (i.e., grease equipment, clean trucks/trailer/tools, etc.) when “down time” is necessary.
• Assists Foreman in any Daily/Job paperwork as necessary.
• Attends all training sessions required by management.
• Cleans up all jobsites at the end of each day to assure that all trash is removed and the jobsite looks better than before the job started.
• Trains other employees in proper techniques, quality specs, and all work-related items as needed.
