About The Position

The Aerial Lineman is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic and copper lines. This role requires working at heights on poles and in aerial lift equipment while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in aerial construction or telecommunications preferred
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Physically able to lift 75–100 lbs
  • Experience with power and hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or required depending on role)
  • Ability to read construction drawings and utility maps
  • Strong commitment to safety

Nice To Haves

  • Fiber splicing experience
  • Experience with bucket trucks and aerial lifts
  • Knowledge of telecom safety standards
  • Previous utility or construction experience

Responsibilities

  • Install, splice, and maintain aerial fiber optic and/or copper cable
  • Perform pole transfers, strand placement, and lashing operations
  • Set up and operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment
  • Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders
  • Identify and troubleshoot network issues in the field
  • Ensure proper grounding and compliance with safety standards
  • Conduct pre-job site walks and follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
  • Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects efficiently
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
