Aerial Lift Trimmer - Anna, TX
About The Position
The Aerial Lift Trimmer is responsible for trimming, pruning, and removing trees with the aid of a bucket truck or other equipment or tools. This role involves performing professional tree maintenance activities, clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines, and cleaning up and disposing of all debris. The position requires constant observation and practice of climbing and tree maintenance skills to improve professional abilities, and readiness to assist other crew members. The Aerial Lift Trimmer must also safeguard employees and the public from hazards by enforcing safe job practices and keeping the work area clean and orderly. Duties may also include storm work as needed.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of all knots, ropes and rigging devices used in tree trimming and removal operations.
- Identify tree species.
- Familiarity with electrical hazards and appropriate operating procedures when in proximity to electrical conductors.
- Ability to work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying and adverse weather conditions.
- Possess physical strength and agility, good balance, good depth perception and the ability to hear verbal instructions from a distance.
- Obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
- Administer and implement emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and all applicable first aid techniques.
- Quickly remove yourself from a potential danger area.
- Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries.
- Previous aerial lift experience.
- High School diploma or education equivalent.
