About The Position

The Aerial Lift Trimmer performs professional tree maintenance and vegetation-management activities as directed by the Foreperson. The role involves clearing and trimming trees and brush away from utility lines, removing branches and tree debris, and cleaning up and disposing of materials. The employee helps prepare the truck and daily materials, tracks and maintains tools and equipment, continually develops climbing and tree-maintenance skills, and assists other crew members. The position also includes protecting employees and the public from hazards by enforcing safe work practices, maintaining an orderly work area, and communicating frequently with coworkers. Storm-work duties may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for the job.
• Must meet I-9 work authorization requirements.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
• CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and help enforce safe practices.
• Assist in preparing the truck and materials needed for each day at the Foreperson’s direction.
• Perform professional tree-maintenance activities as directed by the Foreperson.
• Clear and trim trees and brush away from utility lines; remove branches and tree debris.
• Clean up and dispose of materials.
• Maintain and keep track of tools and equipment used in daily work.
• Continually observe and practice climbing and tree-maintenance skills to improve professional skills.
• Assist other crew members in all aspects of daily work.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards by enforcing safe job practices, keeping the work area clean and orderly, and maintaining frequent voice communication with coworkers.
• Perform duties for storm work as needed.
