Requirements

  • Full-time Aerial Foreman in Berthoud, CO.
  • Eager to join a growing organization.
  • Experience in fiber optic infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with underground installation and network testing.
  • Ability to simplify logistics, manage complexities, and collaborate with clients.
  • Commitment to innovation, precision, and sustainability.
  • Ability to work a four-day work week from 6:45 am to ~5:00 pm with potential overtime.
  • Proficiency in operating lift trucks, line trucks, hydraulic bucket trucks, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to maintain safe clearance from electrical hazards.
  • Understanding of clearances from other utilities for safety and compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field verification and execution plan for each project.
  • Perform a pre-site survey to check fiber placement, vaults, and handholes.
  • Ensure work zones are properly marked, and safety measures (traffic control, PPE) are in place.
  • Confirm access to install locations, buildings, or aerial lines.
  • Communicate job expectations with the aerial install team.
  • Manages and work alongside field technicians to ensure projects are on-time and on-budget.
  • Identifies and resolves areas of inefficiency to maximize performance and workflow.
  • Links project timelines and budgets to give lineman a clear understanding of the big picture.
  • Optimizes team abilities, resources, and processes to improve operational performance.
  • Facilitates smooth project and team transitions through effective change management strategies.
  • Meet daily production goals with minimal defects.
  • Coordinate ground support for linemen and engineering technicians to optimize installation and maintenance services.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used in construction and maintenance activities.
  • Performs direct aerial linemen fieldwork, directly involved in the physical installation of fiber optic systems on telephone lines.
  • Create, track, and review performance objectives of direct reports.
  • Guides direct reports in embodying Backbone’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Ensures the team lifecycle from hiring through transitions, ensuring seamless progression.
  • Promotes and ensures a strong safety culture within and through direct reports.
  • Understand and maintain clearances from other utilities to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Skillfully operate lift trucks, line trucks, hydraulic bucket trucks, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Documents and input accurate data for reporting, invoicing, and workflow efficiency.
  • Accurately track daily time and field documentation.
  • Perform manual labor to maintain safe clearance from electrical hazards.
  • Ensures project productivity through accurate documentation, resource allocation, and coaching.
  • Trains team members in installation best practices and safety standards.
  • Ensures project quality through thorough training, assessments, and accountability measures.
  • Evaluates the skill levels of installation technicians to guide their development.
  • Ensures new technicians are proficient in installation tasks.
  • Assist with Other Duties as Assigned
