About The Position

An Aerial Telecommunications Lineman installs, maintains, and repairs aerial fiber optic and telecommunications cable systems to ensure reliable voice, data, and internet services. This role works on utility poles and elevated structures, operates specialized equipment, and performs troubleshooting and network upgrades while adhering to strict safety standards. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, skilled in outdoor field work, and capable of working at heights in varying weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class A CDL is required.
  • Previous management or crew leadership experience required.
  • Experience working from blueprints, specifications, and field prints required.
  • Knowledge of aerial and underground telecommunications construction.
  • Proficient in using email for communication and documentation.
  • Ability to upload and manage photos using mobile applications.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs-100lbs.
  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, for extended periods
  • Work performed outdoors, in all weather conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, in live traffic zones.

Responsibilities

  • Set utility poles and anchors; install, transfer, hang, lash, and maintain aerial telecommunications cable.
  • Operate bucket trucks, aerial lifts, post-hole diggers, and other construction equipment and hand tools.
  • Perform cable placement and pulling in conduit systems and open excavations.
  • Read and interpret field prints, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure all work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise crew members, maintain assigned vehicles and equipment, work professionally on customer properties, and complete project invoicing.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including climbing utility poles, working at heights, lifting equipment and materials weighing 50lbs-100lbs, and performing outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs.
