About The Position

Fiber Network Services (FNS) is a communications contractor specializing in fiber optic and cable network services for major clients like Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra, and Suddenlink across multiple states and Washington D.C. We are seeking experienced In-house Aerial Linemen to join our Roanoke, VA. team. This role involves working on various HFC/Broadband projects including Business As Usual (BAU), spans, relos, Hyperbuild, Newbuild, and Metro-E. The position reports to Project Management.

Requirements

Knowledge of HFC design.
Aerial Fiber/Coax construction experience.
Ability to read and understand technical instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively and work within a team.
Ability to occasionally be on-call for after-hours emergency work.
Possession of a valid Driver's license.
Ability to pass a drug screening.
Ability to pass a background check.
Able to lift up to 25 pounds or more.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Able to pass a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

Read HFC maps/prints to understand project scope.
Climb poles using gaffs, ladders, and bucket trucks to perform work.
Maintain visual and vocal contact with crew members and others to ensure safe movement coordination.
Recognize and enforce safe working environments in public right-of-way, including worksite traffic-control best practices.
Produce accurate post-construction as-built mark-up maps, typically via red-lined PDF files.
Provide daily production reports via email, Excel, or other tracking methods.
Maintain aerial specifications when placing overhead lines.
