The position also involves serving as a Lead Patient Flow Coordinator to manage patient movement and EMS traffic. Requirements
- High School Diploma General or GED General
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- EMT-BASIC - EMT-BASIC or EMT-INT - EMT-Intermediate or EMT-ADV - EMT-Advanced or NREMT - NREMT or PARA - Paramedic
- Experience as an EMT
Responsibilities
- Provides basic nursing care (within scope of practice) related to adult, geriatric, and pediatric populations
- Measures, reports, and records vital signs to include height and weight
- Applies compresses and dressings
- Performs 12 lead EKGs, IV therapy, oropharyngeal suctions, suture removals, indwelling catheters
- Transports stable patients safely by stretcher or wheelchair and charts procedures
- Assist with triage and rapid treatment area duties (within the scope of practice for hospital)
- Collect lab specimens/IV placement
- Transport patients
- Chart procedures
- Serve as Lead Patient Flow Coordinator (Lead) to help ensure the patient is getting to open rooms and EMS traffic is directed appropriately
