About The Position

JSL Technologies is seeking experienced former Navy Combat Systems professionals to join our team supporting some of the Navy's most critical surface combatant programs in Virginia Beach, VA. If you have hands-on operational or maintenance experience with the Aegis Combat System, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), DDG 1000, or related combat systems, we want to hear from you. Your fleet experience is what matters most. We'll provide training on our processes and methodologies—you bring the operational knowledge and technical expertise gained through your Navy service. In this role, you'll help improve the readiness, reliability, maintainability, and supportability of advanced naval combat systems by evaluating real-world fleet performance, participating in shipboard and test events, and providing data-driven recommendations that directly support system improvements across the fleet. Ideal candidates have experience as a Fire Controlman (FC), particularly with SPY-1/Aegis systems, Aegis Computer Network Technician (ACNT), Operations Specialist (OS), or Support data-driven decision making by providing accurate analysis and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Military or civilian experience supporting Navy combat systems, fleet operations, systems maintenance, engineering, or related technical disciplines.
  • Electronics Technician (ET). Candidates with equivalent experience supporting Aegis Combat Systems or related Navy combat systems are also encouraged to apply.
  • This position supports high-visibility Navy programs including the Aegis Weapon System, Ballistic Missile Defense, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Seaframe and Mission Modules, DDG 1000, and U.S. Coast Guard combat systems through engineering assessments, fleet event participation, logistics and supportability analysis, and technical performance evaluations.
  • Hands-on operational or maintenance experience with the Aegis Combat System, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), or other modern Navy combat systems.
  • Working knowledge of Navy maintenance practices, operational procedures, and shipboard environments.
  • Ability to analyze technical and operational data and communicate findings through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (active clearance preferred).
  • Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
  • Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD Government-granted security clearance.
  • Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in shipboard and shore-based events, including in-port maintenance periods, Fleet Logistics Assessments, developmental testing, and underway data collection efforts.
  • Observe system performance during fleet operations and document findings to support engineering and logistics assessments.
  • Follow established Navy procedures, safety requirements, and program-specific standard operating procedures while supporting fleet activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, quick-look assessments, suitability evaluations, after-action reports, SITREPs, and other program documentation.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to government customers and project teams.
  • Participate in technical reviews, planning meetings, and integrated product teams.
  • Provide regular project status updates and communicate technical issues clearly to stakeholders.
  • Support assessments of system suitability, reliability, maintainability, and supportability for Navy combat systems.
  • Identify opportunities to collect operational, maintenance, and logistics data to evaluate system performance.
  • Review engineering documentation, technical data, and system designs to identify supportability concerns and recommend practical solutions.
  • Participate in technical meetings and working groups to evaluate system performance, readiness, and mission effectiveness.
  • Assist in identifying logistics, maintenance, and engineering risks that could impact fleet readiness.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze operational, maintenance, engineering, and logistics data from multiple sources.
  • Analyze fleet performance data using established government tools and processes to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop charts, graphs, dashboards, and other visual products to communicate technical findings to government stakeholders.
