About The Position

COMPA Industries is recruiting an Advisory Engineer to support the Savannah River Site (SRS) Site Electrical Safety Program. This senior technical advisory role focuses on Hazardous Energy Control (HEC) and electrical safety. The engineer serves as a site-level expert for Health & Safety, maintenance, construction, and other organizations, providing procedure interpretation, field implementation guidance, and support for programmatic compliance. The role is recognized for expertise in its functional area and operates with considerable independence, setting technical direction, mentoring subject matter experts, and representing the site in dealings with DOE, NNSA, and other oversight organizations. The position involves advising and mentoring SMEs, developing procedure interpretations, supporting investigations and assessments, and addressing complex technical problems. The engineer also helps initiate technical programs, plans and monitors major technical tasks, communicates results through reports and presentations, and mentors less senior professionals. The posting contains differing descriptions of the work arrangement and schedule. The contract is described as a one-year base term with option periods; the opening mentions two one-year options, while Contract Details mentions one additional one-year option, not guaranteed and exercised at the hiring manager’s discretion. Candidates must be local to the Aiken, SC area or willing to relocate at their own expense. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance; an active clearance is not initially required.
