We are seeking an Advisor, Stakeholder Engagement to join our Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability (PACS) team, supporting vitally important energy infrastructure projects across the U.S. Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and parts of the Midwest. In this role, you will be central to how Enbridge builds relationships and trust with community partners, local leaders, first responders, and other important stakeholders. Your work will help support Enbridge's reputation and social license to operate and ability to serve communities with reliable, affordable energy. Requirements

  • University degree from a related post-secondary program
  • 4+ years of directly related work experience, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrates integrity, safety, inclusion, respect, and a high-performance approach, with the resilience, adaptability, confidence, and initiative to work independently or collaboratively in fast-paced, demanding environments.
  • Knowledge of relationship building and community engagement best practices, infrastructure permitting practices, regulatory requirements, community dynamics, Indigenous/Tribal history and culture.
  • Excels at building positive relationships with stakeholders, employees, contractors, partners, and external partners through strong communication, consultation, negotiation, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational, and communication capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Maintains big-picture focus and prioritizes projects, deadlines, and engagement to support organizational goals.
  • Ability to travel and work throughout Canada and United States.
  • Valid passport is required.
  • A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire.
  • Works with highly confidential and strategic information.
  • Operates within a decentralized structure, and includes attendance at after-hours events.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without requiring sponsorship from Enbridge now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute project engagement strategies that capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risk for infrastructure projects.
  • Lead or assist with crafting, implementing, and managing engagement plans, messaging, and budgets.
  • Provide timely advice and counsel to internal audiences on local community interests, cultural awareness, relationship management, partnership opportunities, negotiations, issue management, and risk and opportunity assessments — including bringing the voice of communities into Enbridge for appropriate and timely consideration.
  • Lead planning and execution of project media and communications strategies, including interaction with local media outlets, development of internal briefing materials, and drafting of messaging and materials.
  • Plan and manage project budgets and other resources with attention to cost efficiency and responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Share regional knowledge and expertise with internal audiences.
  • Serve as part of the Crisis Communications & Response Team (CCRT) during operational incidents, emergencies, or reputational events; periodically serve as the weekly on-call Public Information Officer on standby for 24/7 crisis communications response.
