About The Position

Under general supervision and in partnership with Internal Banking Consultants, Senior Internal Banking Consultants, Banking Consultants, Financial Advisors, branch leadership, and internal lending partners, the SBL Solutions Advisor provides sales-aligned advisory support for Securities Based Lines of Credit (SBL) opportunities. This role uses knowledge of securities-based lending, loan structure, collateral, borrower and pledgor relationships, business and trust documentation, and application requirements to help Financial Advisors and sales partners structure and advance appropriate SBL opportunities. The SBL Solutions Advisor provides deal-specific education, consultative guidance, and targeted intervention on stalled or complex SBL opportunities when the issue relates to loan structure, documentation strategy, collateral, borrower setup, or internal partner alignment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, concepts, and procedures of Securities Based Lines of Credit, banking, financial markets, and related lending products.
  • Knowledge of loan structure considerations, collateral requirements, borrower and pledgor relationships, business/entity documentation, trust documentation, and common SBL application requirements.
  • Knowledge of established organizational policies, strategies, and procedures related to Raymond James Bank Securities-Based Lending and related internal partner areas.
  • Knowledge of sales process, branch support model, advisor/client service expectations, and methods for educating Financial Advisors and branch associates on SBL solutions.
  • Skilled in strategizing for high impact transitions where a cohesive plan is needed across stakeholders that include the branch office, Transitions Consultants, Loan operations, and Customer Accounts and communicating that plan to the various stakeholders.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with Financial Advisors, branch associates, sales partners, clients, and internal business partners.
  • Skilled in providing consultative guidance on SBL loan structure, collateral, borrower/pledgor setup, documentation needs, and process expectations.
  • Skilled in analyzing borrower, collateral, account ownership, business, and trust information to support appropriate SBL structure recommendations.
  • Skilled in partnering with Underwriting, Operations, Product, IBCs, Sr. IBCs, Banking Consultants, and other internal teams to resolve structure-related issues.
  • Skilled in providing a high level of client and advisor service in the spirit of Raymond James Service 1st commitment.
  • Skilled in managing multiple complex sales support requests with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong professional relationships with Financial Advisors, branch leadership, IBCs, Sr. IBCs, Banking Consultants, and internal partner teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced sales and lending environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in determining when an issue is advisory, operational, underwriting-related, or compliance-related.
  • Ability to clearly explain reasons behind structure guidance, escalation recommendations, process requirements, or documentation needs.
  • Ability to maintain poise, presence, and professionalism in challenging or time-sensitive advisor/client situations.
  • Ability to distinguish targeted deal intervention from routine operational pipeline management.

Responsibilities

  • Provides information, consultation, and sales support to Financial Advisors, IBCs, Sr. IBCs, Banking Consultants, and branch associates regarding Securities Based Lines of Credit (SBL) options, requirements, and appropriate loan structures.
  • Assists Financial Advisors and sales partners in positioning SBL solutions with clients, including helping explain product requirements, loan structure considerations, collateral requirements, application expectations, and documentation needs.
  • Provides deal-specific education to branches on loan structure, application process, required paperwork, borrower and pledgor setup, business/entity considerations, trust documentation, collateral eligibility, and common items that may delay or complicate the SBL process.
  • Interprets borrower information, collateral information, business documentation, trust documentation, account ownership, and related facts to help determine an appropriate loan structure and prepare the opportunity for submission or escalation.
  • Partners with IBCs, Sr. IBCs, Banking Consultants, Underwriting, Operations, Product, New Accounts, Customer Accounts, Account Transfers, Collateral Monitoring, and other internal partners to clarify deal requirements, resolve structure-related issues, and support a high-quality advisor/client experience.
  • Provides targeted pipeline intervention for SBL opportunities that are stalled due to loan structure, collateral issues, borrower or pledgor setup, documentation strategy, transition complexity, escalation needs, or unclear internal ownership.
  • Helps identify the root cause of structure-related delays and recommends a path forward, including appropriate partner engagement, revised loan structure, additional information needed, or escalation strategy.
  • Supports transition-related SBL opportunities by providing advisory guidance on SBL structure, repaper requirements, pledged account movement, collateral considerations, payoff or pledge release implications, and coordination points with internal partners.
  • Communicates with branch associates and internal partners regarding compliance, risk, collateral, and documentation considerations related to SBL opportunities, while escalating matters requiring Underwriting, Operations, Legal, Compliance, or Product review.
  • Partners with IBCs and Sr. IBCs to ensure consistent, high-quality support for assigned territories, branches, and advisor relationships.
  • Identifies recurring advisor questions, structure-related delays, process gaps, and sales enablement needs; shares feedback with Sales leadership, Product, Operations, and other partners as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
