About The Position

As a Financial Disclosure Advisor, you will contribute to the preparation, analysis, disclosure, and monitoring of financial statements to produce financial, statutory, regulatory, and strategic information for Mouvement Desjardins in accordance with IFRS standards. More specifically, you will be responsible for: Acting as manager for financial, regulatory, tax, and accounting information production mandates. Executing, validating, and analyzing the treatment of various complex accounting and financial transactions while ensuring data integrity and compliance with the company's accounting policies and standards within the required deadlines. Coordinating the planning and execution of related activities within the required deadlines. Developing, evolving, monitoring, and implementing methods, procedures, control measures, and tools to ensure consistency and balance between business needs and compliance with requirements and best practices. Implementing and monitoring quality controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting data or financial statements. Conducting specialized analyses for projects or mandates within your area of expertise and issuing recommendations. Producing various reports or other specialized documents presenting financial or accounting information for different committees, stakeholders, or external organizations. Acting as an advisor in your area of expertise to organizational units, members of your unit, or various stakeholders. Performing a watch role to understand trends in your area of expertise and making appropriate recommendations to support the development of best practices for the company. Acting as manager or contributing to various projects or mandates within your area of expertise. Ensuring compliance with financial governance, regulatory compliance, and current accounting or tax standards for the elements under your responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • A minimum of four years of relevant accounting experience
  • Possess or be in the process of obtaining the CPA accounting designation
  • Knowledge of French required
  • Knowledge of written English at an advanced intermediate level
  • Business insight
  • Interpersonal Savvy
