About The Position

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as an Advisor, Data Science on our Software Engineering Team in Austin, Texas. As a Data Science you will be responsible for developing fundamentally new approaches to generating meaning and value from internal data technologies, often working closely with leading academics and industry experts. You will develop new methodologies and tools to enable advanced modeling and statistical analysis against petabyte-scale data sets, and work with engineers to create new tools and features that support sophisticated analytics within the database. You will also seek to understand our customers' most urgent questions and use statistical methods and models to provide answers, either as part of pre-sales proofs-of-concept or as a paid engagement.

Requirements

  • Advanced Solution Ownership
  • GenAI & Agentic Systems (Core Expectation)
  • Innovation & Applied Research
  • Coding Assist & Engineering Excellence
  • Advanced Modeling & Analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's/Master's (or higher) degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
  • ~5–8+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI or PhD in related field
  • Hands-on experience with: LLM platforms (e.g., Azure OpenAI, open-source models)
  • Agent frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent)
  • Vector databases and retrieval systems
  • Optimization solvers, simulation tools, or causal inference frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Interact with business leaders to understand business strategy, conditions, and problem areas, and contribute to business strategy by influencing decision-making based on deep-dive analysis
  • Produce actionable and compelling recommendations by interpreting, exploring, identifying, and communicating insights discovered from complex data sets
  • Partner with both internal and external sources to gather and examine data from disparate sources with the goal of discovering previously hidden insights
  • Design, develop, and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured data to generate actionable insights and solutions
  • Develop and code software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources, and construct predictive models, algorithms, and probability engines — verifying model and algorithm effectiveness based on actual results
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large, complex, and ambiguous problem areas
  • Design and implement advanced Generative AI systems, including: Develop agentic systems and orchestration workflows, enabling multi-step reasoning, tool usage, and automation
  • Define and implement evaluation, monitoring, and safety guardrails for GenAI systems
  • Drive innovation through applied research, experimentation, and rapid prototyping
  • Evaluate emerging techniques and translate them into practical, scalable solutions
  • Set best practices for effective use of coding-assist tools (e.g., Copilot, LLM-based tools)
  • Review, validate, and maintain AI-generated code at scale, ensuring: Correctness, Security, Performance and scalability
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the development of end-to-end AI/ML solutions, leveraging statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, optimization, forecasting, and anomaly detection techniques to solve complex business problems.
