About The Position

The Advisor, OpEx (Business Architect Lead) plays a key role in structuring Oriental’s operations in terms of its governance structure, operational processes, automation, and business information. The primary focus is the Back-office operations automation that link these aspects of Oriental's operations together. The Advisor works with the Operational Design & Automation Manager and team to develop an integrated view of the operations using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques. Position works hybrid and reports to San Juan, PR.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business process automation, with at least 3+ years in a senior role.
  • Proven expertise in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), or other automation technologies.
  • Strong background in business process management and reengineering.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver automation solutions in complex environments.
  • Deep knowledge of RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, or similar platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with process modeling, business analysis, and process optimization techniques.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions on time.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive long-term automation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of both business and technical aspects of automation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Results-driven, with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US is required.
  • This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
  • Employee is responsible for maintaining eligible work authorization throughout his tenure with the organization.

  • A master’s degree or certifications in automation, business process management, or related technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high‑performing team of business architects and automation specialists.
  • Define and enforce lifecycle development standards for automation solutions, from design to monitoring, aligned with institutional policies.
  • Mentor junior and senior architects, sharing best practices and providing technical guidance.
  • Manage team capacity, priorities, and multiple projects to ensure on‑time, on‑scope, and on‑budget delivery.
  • Design end‑to‑end automation solutions aligned with business goals, including architecture, implementation, and scalability.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement, optimization, and performance of automation solutions.
  • Lead POCs and evaluation of new automation technologies before full‑scale adoption.
  • Partner with business, IT, security, and project teams to gather requirements, mitigate risk, and ensure compliant delivery (IT, SOX, regulatory).
  • Establish and maintain automation frameworks, documentation, KPIs, and success metrics to measure impact.
  • Report progress, outcomes, and insights to senior leadership while promoting a culture of responsible automation.
