The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) has 1 (one) exciting fixed-term opportunity up to March 31, 2028 within the Operations branch at the CATSA HQ in Ottawa. Requirements

  • Successful completion of a college or university degree with specialization in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development or another specialty relevant to the duties of the position, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in learning and development specific to program development and design for adult learning.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in instructional design and/or educational technology tools.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and pedagogical methods.
  • Demonstrated experience using the ADDIE model on learning and development projects in the corporate arena.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility, creative problem-solving, innovation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and stress and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and to negotiate agreements.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the air transportation or security industry.
  • Ability to read x-ray images and identify common, non-permitted and threats items.
  • Familiarity with e-learning tools and learning management systems.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority's (CATSA) mandate, its operating environment, and interrelationships and with other government and industry stakeholders and CATSA SOPs.
  • Experience identifying and assessing training needs and evaluating learning programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of both new and existing training materials, courses, and learning experiences in various formats.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the organization to create effective, engaging, and learner-centered content that aligns with the organization's learning objectives and goals.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities related to the position as required.
