About The Position

This role is ideal for a finance professional with a strong background in media spend management and financial planning, eager to partner closely with advertising and marketing teams. The Advertising Media Finance Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of media expenditures, from budgeting and forecasting to reconciliation and reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategic goals. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes, provide real-time insights, and support decision-making. You will play a critical role in process improvement, compliance, and KPI tracking, contributing to operational efficiency and organizational success. Remote work flexibility allows engagement with stakeholders across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • 7–9 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), ideally with significant marketing or media spend.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with marketing, advertising, or media planning teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, power queries) and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Google Suite products, financial planning software, accounting software, and AP invoice processing systems.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau) and media planning software is a plus.
  • Preferred experience with Workday Adaptive, Sage Intacct, and PaperSave.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual media budgeting process and quarterly financial forecasts in partnership with media planning teams.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process for media spend, ensuring proper expense recognition and reconciliation of vendor invoices.
  • Provide variance analysis of actual spend versus budgets and forecasts, delivering actionable insights to leadership.
  • Act as the primary financial liaison for advertising teams, preparing executive-level reporting on media spend and performance.
  • Monitor and optimize media financial processes, tracking real-time budgets and reporting on KPIs, including burn reports.
  • Ensure quality control of media buys, including purchase orders, invoicing, and system setup.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial operations.
