About The Position

The Orlando Sentinel is seeking an experienced and digitally savvy print and digital marketing professional to join our team as an Advertising Account Executive. We’re also open to seasoned sales and marketing individuals with agency experience who take a consultative approach and are highly motivated. Account Executives maximize revenue through a consultative sales approach with the ability to prospect and sell advertising solutions across the array of Tribune Publishing’s print and digital products. This is a work-from-home opportunity; however, you will need to reside locally in the Central Florida area for local sales calls, networking events, and occasional in-office meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Capable of working well both independently and as part of a team
  • High level of professional written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of how to grow and maintain market share
  • Ability to accurately develop forecasts and manage pipelines
  • A proven track record of success in a goal-oriented, highly accountable environment, specifically in building revenue and delivering solutions based on identified customer needs
  • Able to effectively manage time as it relates to focu s on sales-related activities
  • Strong experience with digital advertising, email marketing, and SEO/SEM sales and account management
  • A full pre-employment background check and MVR will be conducted as part of the selection process.
  • Must be willing to submit and pass the necessary required checks
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation
  • This position entails occasional driving for work assignments, in-person training sessions and/or meetings. The employee will be responsible for transporting themselves between different sites as needed
  • Must be available for shift work. May be required to work various hours for coverage outside of normal business hours

Responsibilities

  • Aggressively develop and execute prospecting strategies to uncover and close new business opportunities
  • Work independently to retain and upsell newly developed business through consistent campaign performance management
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in digital products, technology, measurement, and analytics
  • Perform weekly reporting on account activity, pipeline revenue, and major initiatives
  • Develop and maintain a personal book of digital and print business, complete with monthly and quarterly revenue goals
  • Identify the current needs of the client base; communicate the benefits of our audience-based marketing solutions as they relate to each need and then sell the appropriate campaign
  • Work through objections/concerns regarding costs, budgets, and selling strategies
  • Research problems and provide solutions; requires an understanding of the Company’s digital products as they relate to customers, prospects, and key trends
