About The Position

The Network is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to defeating trafficking networks, with a current focus on the illicit massage industry. The organization leverages a diverse team with expertise from the intelligence community, data analytics, financial services, and victim services. The Network provides partners with data, intelligence, and tactics to disrupt trafficking in illicit massage businesses (IMBs) and builds a safety net for exploited individuals. The core strategy is to attack the business model of trafficking, as it is driven by profit. The organization raises $2.5–3.0 million annually from approximately 100 individual donors. The CEO manages relationships with the top 20–25 major donors, while the Advancement Officer will manage the remaining portfolio of 75–80 donors and prospects, including established major donors and those with growth potential. This role emphasizes relationship-building, prompt follow-up, and timely solicitations, prioritizing donor connection over logged activity.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, sales, or a comparable relationship-driven, quota-carrying field.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated track record of independently building a donor or client base and closing on asks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new tools (CRM, Claude/ChatGPT) quickly and use them consistently to track relationships and commitments.
  • Unquestionable integrity, with the discretion to handle sensitive donor and organizational information.
  • Pass The Network's standard professional background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing familiarity with the philanthropic community in Dallas, Houston, Austin, or Atlanta.
  • Experience with CRM software and disciplined data hygiene (capturing, sorting, and reporting on donor activity).

Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of approximately 75–80 donors and prospects, including current $10,000+ major donors and sub-$10,000 donors with growth potential.
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with donors by understanding their motivations and sustaining regular, personal communication tailored to their interests.
  • Proactively follow up on new relationships surfaced through donor-hosted events, introductions, and networking, converting warm leads into cultivated relationships without prompting.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of every donor interaction, proposal, and gift in the CRM.
  • Design and execute personalized stewardship plans to demonstrate the tangible impact of donor contributions.
  • Meet weekly with the President and CEO to review portfolio activity and determine solicitation strategies.

  • Draft compelling, donor-specific proposals and presentation materials.
  • Continuously identify, research, and qualify new individual donor prospects.
  • Build and deepen The Network's philanthropic network in the Southern U.S., while traveling to other markets as needed to support broader donor relationships.
