About The Position

The Advancement Officer is responsible for identifying, developing, and stewarding lasting relationships by establishing new connections and deepening existing ones. Equipped with a contagious passion for the mission of AIM, this role is excited about igniting a similar passion with donors and partners. As a key contributor to AIM’s global engagement efforts, this role will work closely with several other officers and will also collaborate regularly with the greater Advancement Team.

Requirements

  • BA/BS required, or equivalent work experience in a relevant field
  • 5+ years of fundraising/development experience with consistent growth in impact/outcomes, preferred
  • Lives in relationship with Jesus Christ and consistently reflects Him through word and action.
  • Honors AIM and all people connected to the mission–including staff, partners, volunteers, and survivors–by communicating with respect, integrity, and prayerful care across all platforms.
  • Act as an advocate for AIM and those we serve, understanding the realities of trafficking, raising awareness responsibly, and inviting others to respond through prayer, giving, and action.
  • Treats all team members and participants with dignity, grace, and humility, modeling biblical character and upholding AIM’s culture and leadership expectations.
  • Fully aligns with and upholds AIM’s Mission, Vision, Values. and Statement of Faith in both personal conduct and professional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, solicit, and maintain strategic relationships with donors and partners in order to nurture, challenge, and grow their engagement with the mission.
  • Manage and actively steward a dynamic portfolio of donors, including individuals, businesses/corporations, foundations and possibly some church relationships ensuring consistent and meaningful touchpoints.
  • Prioritize and cultivate major donors ($10,000+ annually), while intentionally developing mid-level donors with capacity for increased giving and deeper partnership.
  • Create and execute individualized engagement plans for key donors, aligning their passions and values with AIM’s mission and measurable impact.
  • Consistently move donors through AIM’s Advancement Moves Management system (Identify, Qualify, Cultivate, Solicit, Steward), ensuring no relationship stalls or disengages.
  • Deliver compelling, mission-aligned communication and impact updates that clearly connect donor generosity to lives rescued, healed, and communities transformed.
  • Travel as needed to build, deepen, and sustain relationships, including face-to-face meetings, vision trips, and partner engagement opportunities.
  • Participate in international travel (Southeast Asia and Central America) to strengthen donor understanding, trust, and connection to the mission on the ground.
  • Adhere to AIM’s fund development policies and procedures to ensure integrity, consistency, and excellence in all donor interactions.
  • Secure financial support from assigned portfolio with the goal of reaching/exceeding $575,000 annually once the portfolio is established. Going forward, there will be clear expectations for year-over-year growth.
  • Develop and execute strategic solicitation plans, including major gift asks, proposals, and follow-up, tailored to each donor’s capacity and engagement level.
  • Actively manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and advancing prospective donors toward giving decisions.
  • Partner in the development and execution of AIM’s overall fundraising goals, contributing to both short-term revenue and long-term sustainability.
  • Monitor and evaluate portfolio performance, adjusting strategies to maximize donor retention, upgrade giving, and overall revenue growth.
  • Leverage key moments, campaigns, and personal engagement opportunities to inspire increased generosity and long-term partnership.
  • Maintain a forward-looking revenue forecast, ensuring visibility into progress toward goals and proactively addressing potential gaps.
  • Accurately record all donor interactions, updates, and activities within AIM’s CRM, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Utilize data to inform donor segmentation, engagement strategy, and next best actions within the portfolio.
  • Own the planning and execution of special campaigns, initiatives, and/or awareness events that drive engagement and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Advancement Team to align on strategy, messaging, campaigns, and donor experience.
  • Actively contribute to team initiatives, meetings, and planning processes to strengthen overall fundraising effectiveness and unity.
  • Travel to USHQ as needed for staff events, strategic planning, and team retreats to maintain alignment and culture.
  • Ensure consistent execution of AIM’s Moves Management framework, systems, and operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement of fundraising strategies, systems, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and growth of the Advancement team and mission.
