The Advancement Officer, Development Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting the Development senior leadership team, the broader Development division, and the overall DAE portfolio. This position ensures operational excellence through comprehensive internal and external fundraising reporting, in-depth data analysis, and comprehensive annual and campaign projections. Key responsibilities include reviewing UBC Research funding flowing from Development activity for inclusion within the Development Funds Raised counting framework; supplying funds raised amounts for capital projects to UBC Financial Capital Reporting; maintaining clear and effective process documentation; and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Advancement Officer also provides strategic recommendations for enhancements to proprietary applications and participates in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure system functionality aligns with business needs. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of process optimization and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that advance organizational goals and priorities while working within university fundraising policies. JOB SUMMARY The Advancement Officer plays a key role in managing the administrative functions for the unit. The incumbent is responsible for managing the ongoing operations of the development program within the Development unit. The incumbent develops and implements comprehensive administrative policies, procedures and systems that have a broad impact across the unit as well as being responsible for supporting development related activities of senior university administration by managing complex relationship with multi-unit stakeholders. The Advancement Officer is responsible for managing much of the liaison with other Development and Alumni Engagement portfolio units; responsible for managing the prospect pipeline as well as for delivering accurate and meaningful reporting.
