About The Position

Sasha Bruce Youthwork (SBY) is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and relationship-oriented Advancement Manager to support and grow the organization’s fundraising efforts, with a primary focus on special events and individual giving. This position will spend approximately half of their time leading planning and execution for SBY’s signature annual fundraising event and related donor experiences, and half managing donor engagement, stewardship, annual giving support, and fundraising campaigns. The Advancement Manager will play a central role in creating meaningful donor experiences, strengthening donor relationships, supporting fundraising growth, and helping advance SBY’s mission through strategic engagement and thoughtful execution. The Advancement Department is responsible for raising a growing percentage of private revenue for Sasha Bruce. Our revenue goal for FY27 is approximately $2.8 million, with about $1.8 million coming from individuals. Our fundraising target for the 2027 event is $550,000. We currently send two to three solicitations per year, which include a paper letter mailed by “snail mail” combined with email follow-ups, as well as individualized emails and in-person solicitations. We are currently reviewing how we contact and solicit individual donors and plan to engage a consultant + would value the input of this position to help us expand and improve our program. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 4-6 years of nonprofit fundraising or event experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys balancing strategy and logistics, and is excited to grow as a fundraising professional.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, or events.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing events with multiple stakeholders and vendors
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using fundraising CRM systems such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms
  • Comfort interacting with donors, sponsors, Board members, volunteers, and community partners
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solutions-oriented during complex projects and live events
  • Commitment to SBY’s mission, racial equity, LGBTQ+ affirming practice, and youth-centered work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing fundraising galas or large-scale nonprofit events
  • Experience with Classy, auction software, or online fundraising platforms
  • Familiarity with donor stewardship and annual giving strategy
  • Experience supporting volunteer engagement or corporate partnerships
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp, Canva, or donor communications tools
  • Interest in growing into larger fundraising and advancement leadership responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as project manager and lead coordinator for SBY’s annual fundraising event and related cultivation events.
  • Source, coordinate, and manage vendors, including venue, AV, catering, rentals, entertainment, décor, transportation, permitting, insurance, and related logistics
  • Coordinate performers, speakers, talent, and production teams
  • Develop and manage detailed project timelines, production schedules, and planning calendars
  • Coordinate event staffing, volunteers, and on-site logistics
  • Manage guest lists, RSVP tracking, seating, and donor experience
  • Oversee ticketing and auction platforms
  • Support event marketing and communications in collaboration with the Communications team
  • Lead on-site event execution and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate post-event reporting, reconciliation, acknowledgements, and debrief processes
  • Provide support for other annual events including Holiday Drive, Spring and Fall Tulipalooza events, and donor open houses.
  • Manage and help grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospects
  • Support annual fund campaigns, stewardship efforts, and donor communications
  • Draft personalized donor acknowledgements and stewardship outreach
  • Support recurring giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, and workplace giving efforts
  • Conduct donor and prospect research to support cultivation strategies
  • Coordinate and conduct donor meetings, cultivation opportunities, and follow-up
  • Help track fundraising progress and support reporting on campaign performance
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to deepen donor engagement and retention
  • Help maintain accurate donor records and strong data integrity practices in Salesforce and related systems
  • Review recurring fundraising and donor engagement reports, including retention, renewals, campaign performance, and fundraising trends
  • Partner with the Development Coordinator on gift tracking, donor acknowledgements, mailing lists, and event revenue reporting
  • Exercise strong attention to detail and judgment when managing donor records and stewardship communications
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager on fundraising emails, appeals, donor stewardship communications, and campaign timelines
  • Coordinate with finance, program, operations, and communications staff to support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement activities
  • Assist with advancement workflows, systems improvements, and fundraising infrastructure projects
  • Support volunteer projects and in-kind donation coordination in partnership with Operations staff and the Development Coordinator
  • Provide logistical and operational support for the annual Benefit and other fundraising or donor engagement events
