About The Position

The Advancement Director is responsible for the overall planning, management, coordination, and evaluation of the enrollment management, development, communications and constituent/public relations programs of the school. These activities create a supportive climate for enrollment and fundraising, ultimately providing sufficient resources to ensure the school can achieve its mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a parochial or not-for-profit environment preferred.
  • Experience in enrollment management, development, sales, marketing, communication, and/or volunteer management.
  • Ability to appreciate and communicate a passion for Catholic elementary education.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals.
  • Ability to build a team, effectively recruiting and managing volunteers.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plans.
  • Ability to interact confidently and effectively with school staff, students, donors, trustees, school administration, the media, and alumni.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Internet.
  • Must have clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH), Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Act 153 of 2014 (No less than 1 year old).
  • Attendance at the online Protecting God's Children class and Mandated Reporter Training.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, management, and implementation of marketing, recruitment, and retention of students, including open houses, campus visits, re-registration, brochure creation, and communications to new families.
  • Coordination of external and internal marketing efforts with key volunteers to attract and retain students.
  • Planning, data collection, projection, and reporting of enrollment management data.
  • Assisting with student setup in FACTS, online textbooks, and providing tech support.
  • Managing Simple Tuition Solutions (STS) for tuition collection, record payments, creating deposits, setting up payment plans, and analyzing/disbursing financial aid.
  • Planning, management, and implementation of all fundraising, friend-raising initiatives, and the Freeman Endowment.
  • Planning, managing, and implementing annual giving, major gifts, and events, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, gift processing, acknowledgments, and stewardship.
  • Working with the school and parish Finance Chair and Bookkeeper on the Freeman Endowment for disbursement.
  • Managing the Shopping Cart Fundraiser by running reports and setting up credits/invoices in STS.
  • Educating and engaging key volunteers in implementing mission-based fundraising.
  • Creating and supporting a culture of philanthropy within the school.
  • Setting and maintaining professional writing and design standards for school communications, including print publications (newsletter, marketing materials, brochures, direct mail) and electronic communications (website, email).
  • Managing media relations, including advertising and press releases for local newspapers, media, and social media.
  • Identifying, recruiting, and engaging volunteers, including prospects, parents, alumni, grandparents, clergy, students, faculty, and administrative staff.
  • Volunteer planning and management.
  • Assisting the Home and School board, staff, and volunteers with their activities.
  • Database planning, data acquisition, and management, particularly for enrollment management and development, including updating and maintaining the alumni database.
  • Providing administrative support to teachers, such as printing, creating event invitations, and signups.
  • Managing general office processes and procedures.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the principal.
