About The Position

Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School (CRIPCS) is an adult charter school that delivers high-quality education, career training, and supportive services that enable adult immigrants to realize their dreams while strengthening our community and economy. The Advancement Coordinator/Specialist supports the efforts of the Advancement team, with a primary focus on development operations, events and communications support. Reporting to the VP of Advancement, this role has responsibility for managing data input, integrity, and output for the systems used by the Advancement team, currently Bloomerang and Constant Contact. The Advancement Coordinator/Specialist works closely with the VP of Advancement and other members of the Development and Communications teams to increase and diversify the School’s fundraising revenue and the School’s reputation with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and experience required.
  • 2-5 years of nonprofit or government experience required.
  • Experiencing managing communications distributions, lists, and segmentation using a communications platform, preferably Constant Contact.
  • Strong understanding of donor databases and development best practices; experience with Bloomerang preferred.
  • Experience with coordinating, copy editing, and distributing high-quality communications materials for both development and general communications purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • CRM and Fundraising Systems Expertise: Database management experience, including ability to accurately input data, manage data hygiene practices, and extract necessary data for a variety of purposes to support development operations.
  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, track departmental performance metrics, and know the questions to ask to fulfill data requests.
  • Written Communication: Should be comfortable and demonstrate skill at proofreading and copy editing content to ensure quality in the production process, as well as able to generate emails and other messages that meet professional standards appropriate to various audiences.
  • Relationship Building: Comfort working within a small team that is part of a larger institution, working across departments, and forging and maintaining professional relationships with donors and other constituents.
  • Mission Alignment: Deep commitment to CRIPCS’s mission and to modeling the School’s core values in all donor, staff, and community relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily management of the fundraising database (Bloomerang), ensuring accurate donor and prospect records, pipeline projections and gift tracking, acknowledgments, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Track fundraising metrics and evaluate the effectiveness of development activities to inform continuous improvement.
  • Support development needs by identifying appropriate constituents for a variety of purposes including event invitations and receipt of print and digital media.
  • Perform data merges and distribution for development communications including acknowledgements, invitations, and solicitations.
  • Provide administrative support for the gift and grant process by submitting applications and invoices in a timely manner and following up in a professional and timely manner with donors and institutional funding sources.
  • Facilitate communications to those attending events and ensure that suitable follow-up communication occurs after events.
  • Assist with and coordinate the assembly and printing of materials for visitors to the School.
  • Serve on committees to support the annual fundraising event and support other event planning and execution as needed.
  • Collaborate with Communications team to ensure fundraising strategies are integrated with storytelling, branding, and outreach.
  • Support the writing, design, and production of development materials, including print, digital, and web content.
  • Support the Communications team with certain routine and special projects, maintaining distribution lists in communications platform, checking content for accuracy, and distributing content to intended constituents (using Constant Contact).
  • Coordinate meetings and agenda for full-team meetings for Advancement.
