About The Position

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring an Advanced Welding Instructor at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, Kentucky. The instructor teaches youth ages 16–24 welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, GMAW/Spray, FCAWG, FCAWS, and GTAW in accordance with the D1.1 structural welding code. The position provides an opportunity to teach students a career that remains in high demand.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification by the American Welding Society or in accordance with standards established by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Experience in fabrication and 5G and 6G pipe welding.
Certification in SMAW and GMAW or FCAW-G.
Familiarity with the American Petroleum Institute (API) code.
Teaching experience in pipe welding.

Nice To Haves

Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

Responsibilities

Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.
Motivate and counsel students regarding behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits.
Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training or instruction.
Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment.
Participate in student assessment panels and complete required documentation and evaluations using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.
