The Advanced Care Technology Research and development (R&D) engineer role supports the advanced care technology and visualization engineering department. An enterprise wide team providing services that supports Intermountain’ s mission and vision by driving implementation of advanced care technology and visualization engineering technologies and services, and demonstrating clinical and business impact, from research to practice, that can transform healthcare at Intermountain. This position primarily supports the execution and service delivery of simulation, immersive, additive and 3D printing service line within the advanced care technology and visualization engineering visualization department. This role will be required to work in-person at our Vine Street Office Building in Murray, UT. Candidates with CFD and fluid mechanics experience are encouraged to apply. Job Description The Advanced Visualization Research and development (R&D) Engineer supports the advanced visualization engineering department. An enterprise wide team providing services that supports Intermountain’ s mission and vision by driving implementation of advanced visualization technologies and services, and demonstrating clinical and business impact, from research to practice, that can transform healthcare at Intermountain. This position primarily supports the execution and service delivery of additive and 3D printing service line within the advanced visualization program. This position fills a key role in Intermountain Healthcare's effort to transform how Healthcare utilizes Advanced Visualization and Engineering technology to improve efficiencies and outcomes in a clinical setting. The Specialist engineer is responsible for a wide variety of technical responsibilities as it relates to the advanced visualization program 3D print services execution and continuous improvement of already defined service lines and initiatives. And, supports the execution of newly formed service lines, including implementation and validation of new design concepts to meet the needs of the relevant stakeholders. This position requires one to have a deep understanding and application of varied 3D visualization (XR and Spatial Computing) and 3D printing technologies and associated postprocessing techniques and tools, with direct application in the use of 3D printing for prototyping and demo product visualization. Furthermore, this position requires one to have great understanding of quality assurance techniques and maintenance timelines and schedules to ensure accurate and repeatable 3D design, prototype, and model production. This position further requires one to align tasks and work done to a given medical quality management system with previous experienced in healthcare and medical device regulatory, privacy, and risk management requirements. This role supports execution of established strategic priorities in evaluating and implementing new advanced visualization technologies and solutions. This position executes the day-to-day engineering needs for the advanced visualization program and works closely with and receives guidance from the Advanced Visualization director and interacts closely with program engineers and other clinical and business service line recipients. This position will grow as needed with responsibility as the program matures.
