About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth – Anchorage, AK is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic for their Swing Shift. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. The ideal candidate will have a deep mechanical understanding, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example while upholding high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Responsibilities include analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determining repair strategies, and executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems. The role also involves mentoring other technicians and supporting customers by maximizing truck uptime. This position works Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – midnight.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
Cummins and MX software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks.
Analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions.
Determining the best repair strategy.
Executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians.
Maximizing truck uptime and ensuring trucks are back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly.
Upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
