About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. This role involves leading in the diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining of medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. The ideal candidate will possess a deep mechanical understanding, sound judgment, and the ability to lead by example while upholding high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Responsibilities include analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determining repair strategies, and executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems. This position also involves mentoring other technicians and supporting customers by maximizing truck uptime. The role operates Monday – Friday from 1:30pm to 10pm.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks.
Experience with engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks.
Analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions.
Determining the best repair strategy for complex issues.
Executing repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Serving as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians.
Supporting customers by maximizing uptime and ensuring trucks are back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly.
Upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
