About The Position

The Advanced Technician, Maintenance supports chemical operations by helping achieve strong safety, quality, reliability, and engagement performance. The role executes maintenance tasks that are time-sensitive in their impact or consequences and ensures work is performed safely and efficiently to a high standard of quality.

The technician installs, services, and repairs process equipment and components typical of the chemical industry, including valves, pumps, piping systems, actuators, filtration systems, tanks and vessels, and pressure-relief devices. The position also diagnoses equipment malfunctions, inspects mechanical and other facility equipment, coordinates with production and other departments about machinery functionality, and applies root-cause analysis thinking to failures to correct problems and help prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of general or industrial maintenance and repair experience, or 0–2 years of experience with a 2-year Mechanic degree.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Solid communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with other maintenance or process experts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
• A 2-year Mechanic degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair process equipment components associated with valves, pumps, piping systems, actuators, filtration systems, tanks and vessels, and pressure-relief devices.
• Use gauges and other test instruments to diagnose malfunctions, and hand and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble system components.
• Inspect mechanical and other equipment typical of a chemical facility.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to obtain feedback on machinery functionality.
• Apply root-cause-analysis thinking to most failures to correct problems and prevent recurrence.
• Execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently, with exceptional work quality.
