About The Position

This position requires TS/SCI and is contingent upon award. The Advanced Special Operations Techniques Intermediate/Sustainment (ASOT I/S) Instructor serves as a subject matter expert responsible for delivering advanced special operations training to Army Special Operations Forces units in support of individual and collective training readiness requirements. The instructor plans, coordinates, and executes Intermediate and Sustainment training events designed to maintain, enhance, and validate operational capabilities across Special Forces, Joint Special Operations, and other designated special operations organizations. The ASOT I/S Instructor provides classroom instruction, facilitates practical exercises, evaluates student and unit performance, and advises unit leadership on training objectives and readiness requirements. The instructor supports the continuous improvement of training programs through curriculum development, lesson plan refinement, and incorporation of current operational tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure training remains relevant to evolving mission requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing or supervising a contract of similar size, scope, and complexity supporting military training or Special Operations programs.
  • Graduate of the Advanced Special Operations Techniques Course (ASOTC).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Advanced Special Operations Techniques (ASOT) Intermediate/Sustainment (I/S) training for operational units within the last twelve (12) months.
  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate, and execute unit-level sustainment training events in support of Special Operations Forces readiness requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver platform instruction and facilitate practical exercises in accordance with approved Programs of Instruction and Government training objectives.
  • Evaluate individual and collective task performance during classroom, practical exercise, and field training events.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development to students and unit personnel.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain lesson plans, training support packages, practical exercises, and associated instructional materials.
  • Incorporate current operational lessons learned, emerging threats, and validated tactics, techniques, and procedures into training programs.
  • Conduct after-action reviews (AARs) and provide recommendations for performance improvement.
  • Coordinate training requirements with Government leadership, unit representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and qualification of military, civilian, and contractor instructors.
  • Maintain proficiency in assigned instructional subject areas and support professional development initiatives between training cycles.
