About The Position

The Sourcing Engineer I supports the connection between Technology & Development Engineering, Category Management, PLC Project Management, and external suppliers. This role leverages their engineering background and technical experience in materials, design, and manufacturing methods to assists with early supplier involvement, supplier discovery, cost and technical studies, and proposal support aligned to technology roadmaps and category strategies. Responsibilities grow with proficiency and demonstrate results.

  • Facilitates agreement among team members and stakeholders to achieve unified project goals.
  • Integrates best practices and market knowledge to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies.
  • Creates comprehensive and precise technical documents to support project implementation and knowledge sharing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred and 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and resolves complex material, design, and manufacturing sourcing engineering challenges by applying advanced technical knowledge and innovative solutions.
  • Technical analysis of materials, design, and manufacturing processes to develop estimated cost structures used by Sourcing Managers in negotiations, and NPI CTC development.
  • Leads small-scale sourcing projects, coordinating resources and managing timelines to ensure successful execution and delivery.
  • Partners with internal teams and external subject matter experts to integrate sourcing strategies and optimize engineering processes.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues by providing guidance, training, and expertise in advanced sourcing engineering practices.
  • Evaluates industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and enhance the organization's sourcing strategies and market position.
