About The Position

Educational Alliance is seeking an experienced Advanced Senior Social Worker Supervisor, LCSW, to join their Weinberg Center for Balanced Living (WCBL) team. This role is crucial in supporting the holistic wellness of older adults served by WCBL and EA 202 Housing. The position involves maintaining a caseload, assisting clients with complex aging-related issues, facilitating goal setting, providing case assistance, making referrals, offering psychoeducation, advocacy, and supportive contact. The role also includes coordinating and facilitating group workshops to address shared needs and promote community well-being. Educational Alliance is a Jewish organization with a long history of providing high-quality programs and services to all New Yorkers across various sites, focusing on education, health and wellness, arts and culture, and civic engagement.

Requirements

  • LCSW is required, with 0-3 years since attaining clinical licensure.
  • SIFI-certified or SIFI-eligible and willingness to pursue SIFI in first year of employment is required.
  • Familiar with local resources and referrals, city/state/federal entitlements.
  • Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about working with older adults.
  • Knowledgeable about age-related neurological changes; comfortable engaging clients exhibiting mental health symptoms and/or cognitive changes required.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and effectively coordinate a comprehensive array of services to address the multiple needs of clients.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Demonstrate astute judgement in prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (e.g., Outlook, Office, Excel).
  • Must travel between Lower East Side/East Village sites.
  • Must work weekend days and evenings for special events or NYC Aging-mandated Cooling Center days upon request.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and lead by example as a key part of the WCBL social services team.
  • Actively participate in regular individual clinical supervision and group supervision meetings, case conferences, and WCBL team meetings, and professional development.
  • Maintain a caseload of older adult clients: conduct intakes and comprehensive assessments of clients’ strengths, needs, and challenges; formulate ongoing care plans and recommend appropriate intervention strategies; and routinely follow-up.
  • Provide case assistance, assisting clients to obtain concrete services, such as completion of applications/renewals for housing and benefits and entitlements; and complete related forms in the NYC Aging electronic record.
  • Make strategic referrals and advocate for service type, frequency, and intensity.
  • Provide supportive contact to help clients address challenges with daily living.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate relevant psychosocial, psychoeducational, and/or mental health workshops and/or group series for community members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation following funder’s prescribed format and time guidelines: update client information; enter client case notes and units in electronic record; and complete case assistance and information and referral logs.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Older Adult Programs team, providing office and meal program support when needed, participating in the organizing and executing of WCBL events, and coordinating workshops and events at EA’s 202 Housing.
  • Coordinate with internal partners and external agencies to ensure best care for clients and provide professional development opportunities for staff.
  • Attend supervisory, program, agency, and community meetings as required.
  • Provide or ensure access to interpretation and translation services for clients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or WCBL director.
