About The Position

The Advanced Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of up to 15 RaceTrac and Raceway convenience stores in a designated region. This individual assesses, develops protocol, and resolves maintenance issues to ensure the operability of every store at all times. The home store for this position is based at 2713 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA 70043. What You'll Do: Resolves maintenance and services issues at RaceTrac and Raceway convenience store locations to ensure full operability 24/7, ultimately increase the profitability of the company. Ensures each job is performed at a high level of skill and with optimal customer service. Serves as a knowledge expert in general maintenance functions including, but not limited to: HVACR, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, foodservice/beverage equipment, and petroleum dispensing systems. Accurately maintain tools and inventory on a service vehicle Provides project support to cross-functional departments in various initiatives related to stores. Responds to additional ad hoc maintenance requests communicated from store personnel as needed. Maintains knowledge of local and state guidelines for facility services as necessary. Works with other AST’s to cross train in multiple trades

Requirements

Food and Beverage equipment repair knowledge preferred
Fuel dispenser and pump repair knowledge preferred
Technical School training in HVACR or electrical preferred
4+ years work experience preferred
Type 1 & Type 2 EPA Certification for refrigerants
Experience in a retail maintenance environment a plus
General knowledge maintenance and repair procedures a plus
Maintenance or repair certifications a plus
Basic Microsoft office knowledge
Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to repeatedly bend, stand and reach while on the job, with no or infrequent breaks.

Responsibilities

Serves as a knowledge expert in general maintenance functions including, but not limited to: HVACR, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, foodservice/beverage equipment, and petroleum dispensing systems.
Accurately maintain tools and inventory on a service vehicle
Provides project support to cross-functional departments in various initiatives related to stores.
Responds to additional ad hoc maintenance requests communicated from store personnel as needed.
Maintains knowledge of local and state guidelines for facility services as necessary.
Works with other AST’s to cross train in multiple trades
Complies with the following safety expectations: Driving: Obeys all traffic laws (including speed limits) and uses common courtesy in congested areas. Working job site: When working outside, always wears a safety (reflective) vest to be more visible to motorists; wears a hard hat at construction sites. Certifications: Completes API safety certification; renews Class B Operator certification regularly. Footwear: Always wears steel-toe shoes/boots at any construction site. Hand-washing: Always washes hands after using the restroom, between each work order, and before handling food service equipment or tools used to fix food service equipment.
Troubleshoots gas dispensers to ensure each is calibrated correctly; makes the appropriate adjustments as necessary.
Identifies trend areas of over or under delivery of gas to guests and provides recommendations for solutions.
Maintains knowledge of state and local regulations for calibration pumps.
