Requirements

  • Current APRN Licensure in State of Florida
  • BLS, ACLS and CPR required
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Master of Science in Nursing.
  • At least 1 year experience in the clinical practice discipline-Cardiology

Responsibilities

  • Assists administrative team in hiring, onboarding and training employees such as case managers, LPNs and Medical Assistants according to MSMC's mission statement and cardiac clinical protocols with the emphasis on Electrophysiology.
  • Perform clinical competencies
  • Maintain practices according to clinical guidelines and regulations.
  • Oversees Electrophysiology device clinic and the hiring and training of new technicians and related personnel for clinical efficiency.
  • Training of Clinical staff to do remote monitoring of implanted devices as well as in person device checks.
  • Work with administrative team on outreach and in reach referral programs.
  • Outreach; centralize, fascilitate and streamline referrals to the EP service.
  • In reach; fascilitate and streamline EP patient care when other specialties/sub-specialty care is needed. (ie. patients with AF and GI bleeds to coordinate with GI)
  • Makes sure all resources are ready for the device clinic
  • Perform routine audits of patient charts
  • Responsible for updating the team on new procedures, practices, etc.
  • Interviews patients and completes a full comprehensive medical history and physical examination.
  • Documents all information relative to the patient's history, physical examination, assessment and treatment plan following department policy and standards
  • In collaboration with physician, orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Attends and actively participates in departmental meetings & in-service programs, providing positive suggestions and input.
