About The Position

As an Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will provide expert-level technical leadership in the design and development of complex engineering projects, acting as the subject matter expert and driving technical excellence. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location on a Hybrid work schedule. As a new external employee, you will work the first 90 days in office before transitioning to hybrid. Be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Aerospace. You will partner with world class engineers and leaders to implement product strategies, develop program schedules and milestones, define technology roadmaps, and drive improvements in engineering quality and productivity. In the Sensing Guidance and Navigation (SGN) Center of Excellence (COE), you will work in partnership to develop products that support aircraft navigation systems for defense, air transport, regional, business aviation, and general aviation. These market areas require a wide variety of navigation systems including inertial measurement units, inertial navigation systems, and aided inertial navigation systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 4 plus years of experience in design engineering or project leadership
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate a diverse team to perform technical execution, technical risk management, requirements management for customer missionizations and new products development for Defense Navigation product line
  • Perform customer flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, technical solution development including but not limited to test strategy and architecture development, test design and development.
  • Manage program’s cost, schedule, work breakdown structure, work allocation, planning and coordination
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders and their needs
  • Provide technical support and expertise to Customer Business Managers and Technical Sales Directors during pursuit of new business to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements
