About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C or FNP-C) to provide medical services to patients. This role involves patient evaluation, including histories and physical examinations for children, adults, and the elderly. The provider will develop diagnoses, order diagnostic tests, and participate in diagnostic procedures such as anoscopy, pelvic exams, and pap smears. Consultation with a Physician is required when necessary. The provider will also be responsible for counseling patients on health problems, treatment plans, and preventative measures, and may perform therapeutic maneuvers like suturing lacerations and fitting diaphragms, all in collaboration with Clinica's physicians.

Requirements

  • PA-C or FNP-C certification.
  • Ability to perform patient evaluations, including histories and physical examinations.
  • Skill in developing diagnoses or differential diagnoses.
  • Proficiency in ordering laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic measures.
  • Experience with diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation.
  • Ability to draw venous blood.
  • Skill in counseling patients on health problems and treatment plans.
  • Experience with therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including placing and removing IUDs, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and putting on casts for minor fractures.
  • Good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Willingness to participate in clinical consultations and continuing education.

  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
  • Experience treating vulnerable populations.
  • Bilingual skills may be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services for the patients of Clinica Sierra Vista.
  • Conduct patient evaluations, including histories (brief and thorough) and physical examinations for children, adults, and the elderly.
  • Develop diagnoses or differential diagnoses appropriate to patients’ complaints.
  • Consult with Physician when needed.
  • Confirm patient problems and order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic measures.
  • Participate in diagnostic maneuvers such as anoscopy examination, pelvic examination and pap smears, electrocardiography, chest x-ray interpretation, and drawing venous blood.
  • Evaluate patients for medication utilization or other therapeutic or preventative measures.
  • Counsel patients with respect to the meaning of health problems, the usefulness and rationales of laboratory and X-ray tests, and the essentiality of preventative and therapeutic steps.
  • Suggest and help to implement referrals when indicated.
  • Carry out certain therapeutic and preventive maneuvers including placing and removing IUDs, fitting diaphragms, suturing lacerations, and putting on casts for minor fractures.
  • Participate in clinical activities in all clinic sites on a scheduled basis.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal abilities with patients and associates.
  • Participate in clinical consultations with associates and continuing education both within the institution and extramurally.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
