Under general supervision, is responsible for the clinical management of patients in accordance with hospital, State and National regulatory agency standards. This role involves performing admission history and physicals, writing appropriate orders, evaluating patient progress, making daily rounds, initiating referrals, writing progress notes, establishing medical diagnoses, and performing technical functions as covered by the job description and delegation agreement. The Advanced Practitioner also acts as a clinical resource, supports performance improvement initiatives, and participates in patient and family education, including health teaching and discharge planning. They are expected to pursue educational advancement for continued certification and attend mandatory inservices.
