About The Position

The Advanced Practice Nursing Manager is responsible for the coordination and assurance of comprehensive health care using advanced practice nursing processes and pertinent standards of care. This includes the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions, and the performance of diagnostic, therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures in collaboration with appropriate specialty and site-based physicians. The APN Manager is responsible for delivering operational leadership to Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in inpatient and ambulatory settings, fostering clinical integration, optimizing workflows, and supporting excellence in advanced practice care. The APN Manager supervises and directs a designated group of advanced practice nurses within distinct specialty areas of practice. These APNs may diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a patient’s condition within their specialty area of practice. Specialty areas may include but not limited to: Acute Care; Adult Health; College Health; Community Health; Family Health; Gerontology; Holistic Nursing; Neonatology; Obstetrics and Gynecology; Oncology; Palliative Care; Pediatrics; Perinatology; Psychiatry; School Health; and Women's Health. The Advanced Practice Nursing Manager supervises the optimization of APN clinical practice within a service line for the delivery of health care to patients while promoting a culture of patient-centered care that emphasizes service and compassion. Serves as a liaison to nursing, medicine, department chairs/chiefs, care management, administration, and other department leadership. Ensures APNs meet institutional compliance with regulatory agencies. The APN Manager is responsible for overseeing administrative operations related to designated Physician Assistants (PAs), including workflow optimization and scheduling. While the APN Manager provides leadership in administrative domains, clinical oversight and accountability for PA practice remain under the purview of the designated MD supervisor and PA lead.
